March for Science - MN

Saturday, April 22, 2017, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Cathedral Hill Park to Minnesota State Capitol, Saint Paul, MN

The Start Point of the March for Science Minnesota will be Cathedral Hill Park in St. Paul. The march will begin at 11:00 AM on Earth Day, April 22. Participants will march from the Start Point to the Minnesota State Capitol, where the Rally will start at 12 PM. Please plan to arrive at the Start Point 30 - 45 minutes in advance to account for the increased traffic and public transportation congestion which may be caused by this event.

Earth Day will be the Minnesota Election Day for the Environment. It is a test of a new democratic tool — common internet voting that culminates for the first time on ONE day, an online issues “election day.” It will demonstrate the strength of ALL our numbers on Earth Day — the day that once again will show the force of protest.

Clean up the River Gorge on Earth Day

Taking place just off of West River Parkway, this cleanup has become an Earth Day tradition in the Minneapolis River Gorge. People come from throughout the local river corridor, neighborhoods and metro area — individuals, families, small church, corporate and student or scout groups — to celebrate Earth Day and contribute to the health and vitality of the Mississippi River.

Kids Climate March

This Earth Day kids will take to the streets and march for climate justice. The Kids Climate March will be partnering with the March for Science Minnesota happening that same day, because kids know that science is important and must be valued in our society.

Earth Day Cleanup is held at several sites throughout the City of Minneapolis. It is a collaborative effort between the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and City of Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling.
